STUDENT ___________________________COURSE 60223: DRAWING & PAINTING 3 Fall
I. Student Learning Outcome
Students will increase technical competence in observation, recording and interpreting
creatively the visual environment. Students will gain experience in a variety
of media used in drawing and painting.
II. Activities
Students will complete works with emphasis on perspective drawing, mass modeling,
expression of basic forms, line quality, elements of composition, space division,
development of dominant and subordinate areas through use of value, line, shape,
color, and texture.
Students will complete a problem in media of special interest to the student leading to understanding of the concepts of:

Art media and instructional texts, videos and websites. Museums and galleries.
IV. Assessment
For the purposes of evaluation and grading during the course, the following
methods may be used: weekly assignments; projects; portfolios, studio work.
Students will be informed of the grading criteria at the beginning of each semester.
V. Duration
The agreement is effective until the end of the current semester.
VI. Progress Monitoring
Progress will be monitored at weekly meetings; therefore, attendance is required.
Missed appointments, tests, and assignments will result in partial course credits
and may result in required attendance to Supervised Independent Study (SIS).
Grades and credits will be reported at the quarter and end of the semester.
