The TAMISCAL Community categorizes the Tamalpais Union High School District’s 15 learning outcomes into three groups according to the extent that they are infused into our school experience.

LEVEL I:
Student Learning Outcomes that are currently implemented by the District as a condition for graduation and are an integral part of the TAMISCAL Student experience.

TAMISCAL STUDENTS WILL:

    1. Communicate articulately, effectively, and persuasively when speaking and writing
    2. Read, view and analyze material in a variety of disciplines
    3. Apply mathematical knowledge and skills to analyze and solve problems
    4. Sustain the system outcomes:
      The TAMISCAL School experience will enable students to:
      1. take responsibility for own learning
      2. enjoy and value learning
      3. develop a social awareness
      4. develop self-confidence
      5. develop strong self-esteem and personal identity
      6. demonstrate pride in work
      7. foster reliance on a strong sense of personal integrity and ethics
      8. link school experiences with postsecondary options
      9. develop an awareness of the impact of behavior on oneself and others
      10. get along with people whose culture, values, and/or opinions are different from one’s own

LEVEL II:
Student Learning Outcomes not currently implemented as a condition or graduation but that are an integral part of the TAMISCAL Student experience.

TAMISCAL STUDENTS WILL (2):

  1. Use technology as a tool to access information, analyze and solve problems, and communicate ideas
  2. Demonstrate knowledge of individual rights and responsibilities of the individual in a democratic society
  3. Demonstrate scientific literacy
  4. Demonstrate knowledge of the global environment and its resources
  5. Apply the principles of economics
  6. Demonstrate school-to-work/postsecondary transition skills and knowledge
  7. Participate in community, social, civic or cultural service

LEVEL III:
Student Learning Outcomes that are recognized as important and are being incorporated into the TAMISCAL Student experience.

TAMISCAL STUDENTS WILL (3):

  1. Communicate in a second language
  2. Analyze and propose solutions to contemporary issues using a variety of perspectives
  3. Interpret, experience, create and/or perform artistic work
  4. Demonstrate knowledge, skills and self-discipline necessary to achieve and maintain good health
