The TAMISCAL Community categorizes the Tamalpais Union
High School District’s 15 learning outcomes into three groups according
to the extent that they are infused into our school experience.
LEVEL I:
Student
Learning Outcomes that are currently implemented by the District as
a condition for graduation and are an integral part of the TAMISCAL
Student experience.
TAMISCAL STUDENTS WILL:
- Communicate articulately, effectively, and persuasively when speaking
and writing
- Read, view and analyze material in a variety of disciplines
- Apply mathematical knowledge and skills to analyze and solve problems
- Sustain the system outcomes:
The TAMISCAL School experience will enable students to:
- take responsibility for own learning
- enjoy and value learning
- develop a social awareness
- develop self-confidence
- develop strong self-esteem and personal identity
- demonstrate pride in work
- foster reliance on a strong sense of personal integrity and
ethics
- link school experiences with postsecondary options
- develop an awareness of the impact of behavior on oneself and
others
- get along with people whose culture, values, and/or opinions
are different from one’s own
LEVEL II:
Student
Learning Outcomes not currently implemented as a condition or graduation
but that are an integral part of the TAMISCAL Student experience.
TAMISCAL STUDENTS WILL (2):
- Use technology as a tool to access information, analyze and solve
problems, and communicate ideas
- Demonstrate knowledge of individual rights and responsibilities of
the individual in a democratic society
- Demonstrate scientific literacy
- Demonstrate knowledge of the global environment and its resources
- Apply the principles of economics
- Demonstrate school-to-work/postsecondary transition skills and knowledge
- Participate in community, social, civic or cultural service
LEVEL III:
Student
Learning Outcomes that are recognized as important and are being incorporated
into the TAMISCAL Student experience.
TAMISCAL STUDENTS WILL (3):
- Communicate in a second language
- Analyze and propose solutions to contemporary issues using a variety
of perspectives
- Interpret, experience, create and/or perform artistic work
- Demonstrate knowledge, skills and self-discipline necessary to achieve
and maintain good health
