IMPORT THEM INTO MICROSOFT WORD OR POWERPOINT
Scanning and Saving Images:
- Open up Adobe Photoshop: Under the START menu, choose PROGRAMS then GRAPHICS then Adobe Photoshop 5.0.
- Under the FILE menu choose IMPORT then TWAIN ACQUIRE
- Check the following settings on the screen that pops up:
- TUE COLOR, RGB is for most images that are in color. Use B/W Photo if the image is in black and white
- REFLECTIVE
- Set pixel for no higher than "72 dpi" (That means 72 dots per inch)
- Keep the size at 100% (you will be able to alter this later!)
- Align your image on the scanner, click PREVIEW, wait a few seconds and the image will appear!
- Using the cursor icon that appears, select the exact portion of the image that you want to import into your new document. There should be a dashed box around the selected area.
- Now click SCAN, wait a few seconds and a new, improved image will appear!
- At this point you can manipulate and customize your image using tools in Adobe Photoshop. Here are some suggestions:
- To change the size of the image click on IMAGE SIZE under the IMAGE toolbar and change the settings.
- To flip or rotate your image click on ROTATE CANVAS under the IMAGE toolbar and change the settings.
- You can also change the brightness etc.
- When your image is in final form, title it and save it to your folder on the C drive as a JPEG file.
Make sure you save this as a small or medium size file (a 3-4 in Quality) under the JPEG options box that appears when you are saving your image.
Importing Scanned Images into a Word or PowerPoint Document:
- Open up Microsoft Word or PowerPoint.
- Click INSERT then PICTURE then FROM FILE
- Locate the file in your folder on theC drive and click on INSERT.
- Resize your image if necessary and position it in you document!
