Highschool Assignments:
All Tamiscal students are asked to complete the following assignments and surveys to document our computer proficiency to the State of California. Your teacher will assign you credit for your work. Social Studies The first goal of this course is to prepare students in the basic use of computers. The second goal is to prepare students to be successful using technology in school and in the workplace.The Computer Proficiency Class is designed to teach technology as a tool to access information, analyze/ solve problems, and communicate ideas. It is the first course of the computer curriculum. As such, it lays the foundation for students’ technology proficiency and prepares them for the use of computers in high school. Computer Proficiency also begins students’ preparation for collegiate level computer science studies and/or entry level work in the computer industry. Students completing Computer Proficiency may then continue their computer studies with Computer Applications and/or Computer Programming. This course is designed to expand the students competency in the use of technology. This one-semester course (may be repeated for credit) gives students the skills and knowledge necessary to complete a variety of projects using computer software applications. It prepares studentsí for collegiate level computer science studies and/or entry level work in the computer industry Computer Programming is designed to teach students programming concepts and languages such as Visual Basic, HTML, and C++ |
