Some Basic How-To's of Microsoft Powerpoint


SOME BASIC  "HOW-TOís" of  MICROSOFT POWERPOINT!

To add a new slide:

 Go to Insert,then choose New Slide


To change background color, gradient, texture, pattern etc:

* Choose Formatthen Backgroun(or right-click on background region of slide and choose background)
* Use the drop-down menu to search for the color of your choice.
* Clicking on Applywill apply the color to the selected slide.  Clicking on  Apply to Allwill apply modification to entire presentation.
* To adjust Gradient, Texture and Pattern, click Fill Effectsfrom drop-down menu.
* To insert a picture from file (scanned, internet etc.) to use as a background, click Fill Effects then Picture


To format the color of text:

* First, select TEXT. Then find the A icon in the toolbar in the upper right hand corner of the screen.  The arrow to the right of the icon will show color options.


To add Clip Art, Word Art, Shapes, Picture from File

* Choose INSERT then PICTURE and then choose Clip Art, AutoShapes, from File, or Word Art
* To INSERT a picture from a file, first locate your image on the internet, or scan it etc. and save it to a known location.


To add text to a blank slide:

* Use a text box!  INSERT then  TEXT BOX and customize to your liking!
* For a bulleted list within an Text Box, click FORMAT then BULLETs and NUMBERING
* Make sure you check out TEXT ENTRY and EXIT OPTIONS for CUSTOM ANIMATION


To apply animations to your slideshow:

* SLIDESHOW then  CUSTOME ANIMATIONS
* Explore a world of options here! Add effects to titles, bulleted text, images etc.!  Customize order and timing of the components of your slide!
* Also add sound!  For Windows users go to CUSTOME ANIMATIONS then EFFECT OPTIONS then  ENHANCEMENTS then SOUND


To add video, or audio from file:

* Locate a video or audio file.  (mov, avi etc.)
* INSERT then  MOVIES and SOUNDS
* INSERT as you would an image from file.
